Waldo’s was built on the belief that art can bring communities together – creating a common space open to all. As a grassroots community arts organization, our goal is to give people the tools to express themselves, and to amplify their creative voices.
With the backdrop of increasing police brutality following the murder of George Floyd, we want to raise the voices of those in our community who are the most vulnerable to injustice. We will be curating an online gallery to showcase the work of Black artists, to grieve this particular moment in history, convey emotion, show off artistic ability, and to simply express individuality.
We want to be a platform for your voice and expression, whether that is through visual art, music, dance, poetry, or prose. You do not have to be a professional artist to submit work; simply complete the form below and attach a high-res photo or video of your work. Please title your files “Your Name - Title”. You may submit individual pieces/performances, or entire collections of work….
To the rest of our Waldo’s community, we invite you to join us in our commitment to Black artists in our area – by examining our white privilege, by making art that provokes action against the injustice of white supremacy and systemic violence, and by giving space to the voices who need it.
Black. Lives. Matter.
*The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 10 MB, if you need to provide larger files please fill out this form and send your art to info@waldosandco.com. Thank you!
