Artist reception featuring the works of photographer Vince Bruinsma. Come celebrate these ethereal works and meet the artist on Saturday July 5th from 6-8pm.
Vince Bruinsma is a photographer, musician, and lifelong explorer of creative pursuits. As a founding member of Waldo’s and Co, he played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s vision and direction, serving as co-director for its first 10 years of existence. Vince has worked as a full-time photographer for over a decade, specializing in portrait and event photography for his professional work, but always drawn to landscape and nature photography for his personal work.
His passion for photography began during seasonal work in Yellowstone National Park, where he spent weekends capturing the wild terrain on rolls of film with a hand-me-down 35mm camera. That early love for analog photography still guides his process today. The grain and organic texture of film bring a tactile richness to landscape photography, lending each image a timeless, tangible quality. Whether traveling the country for photo gigs or exploring close to home, Vince always keeps a film camera on hand to document his surroundings with a personal touch.
The current collection on display was captured on medium format film during a brief season living and working in the Lake Tahoe area. With a focus on both sweeping vistas and intimate details, Vince’s work seeks to evoke a strong sense of place—inviting the viewer to pause, look closer, and feel transported. Complementing the organic textures of the photographs, each wooden frame in the exhibit was handcrafted by Vince from walnut wood, further tying the work to the natural world it portrays.
