Founder and Creative Director of Waldo’s, Chris Lauer is a multimodal artist practicing painting, printmaking, ceramics, and photography. Inspired by whimsy and wild ideas, Chris took his passion and built it into a community of creatives centered around creation, coffee, and affordable access to the arts.

Artist Statement:

Let’s be honest, for the past many years, we’ve all be going through it. The ‘it’ may be different for each of us but we can all relate that ‘it’ has been hard. It seems that the rules are changing and the world is different and relating to each other is more confounded than ever. In such a shifting atmosphere, it feels hard to know if we are even doing a good job at anything. I’ll likely change this statement before the show, but for now, I am hoping that this show will help each of us step fully into the feeling of childlike accomplishment, the feeling of satisfaction, of peace, when someone who knew things said “job well done”.

We have all been going through it, and we have all continued breathing, living, relating as best we can. This show is the gold star that I think we all could use right now. Just because.
